This Book is right for our times. This book is very helpful in getting to know how to use solar energy to get electricity for your houseIt is very nicely written and explains everything step by step, so one does not get overwhelmed by the information. If a lot of people start using solar energy for their energy needs, this will be good for the planet as it can decrease the use of other more harmful ways to get electricity like using coal or nuclear power plants….while at the same time you can save money on electricity bills in the long run. Which in my opinion is a win – win situation.

I was considering installing a Solar Collection system but ionce I began to rice the needed equipment it just was not going to prove very beneficial to me.

All the knowledge you need, great place to start

Like a professor. Not basics or how to do this or that. So much definition and word play. Waste of money. Sorry. All u see with is is it involves the sun and somehow makes electricity. Period

First my qualifications. I have worked in advanced electronics for 54 years. I have had and used solar power since 2013. I hold an Amateur Extra level Ham radio license. There is no doubt anyone can extract some goof information from this book, but it is likely to take you some time unless you have a technical background. Even then you will find portions of the book that will not be quite accurate (using non-standard symbology for ohms law, declaring that wire nuts have a standard color code, and positive and negative current among other things). That said some sections are excellent such as those discussing series and parallel circuits and how to connect your solar panels to obtain the desired voltages. The section on solar panel controllers was a bit weak, not explaining the greater benefit of MPPT controllers over EPE controllers in most instances.Would I recommend this book? I would not recommend it as the first book you should read on solar power; it will confuse and frustrate a beginner. But after you have read more basic books and maybe played with a small solar power set-up, this book can help you build a bigger and better system. There is far more detail in this volume than can be absorbed by the average beginner.
