1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how Ox Nerd Online, LLC (“Ox Nerd Online,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and sells personal information in connection with Solar Panel Central.

Solar Panel Central is owned and operated by Ox Nerd Online, LLC. References in this Policy to “Solar Panel Central,” “we,” “us,” or “our” mean Ox Nerd Online, LLC, doing business as Solar Panel Central, and the website at https://solarpanelcentral.com, including any page of that site that links to this Policy.

If you do not agree with this Policy, do not use the site or submit information through it.

2. What this Policy covers

This Policy applies when you:

– Visit https://solarpanelcentral.com or any page of ours that links here

– Use a solar calculator, quote form, contact form, or similar tool

– Email, call, or otherwise write to us

– Click an affiliate link, including links to Amazon or other retailers

– Interact with ads, embedded media, or similar third-party content on the site

It does not govern third-party sites you reach from our links, including Amazon, advertisers, and solar companies that contact you after a lead is sold. Those parties have their own privacy policies.

We do not operate a checkout on this site and we do not ask you to enter payment-card numbers here. Purchases completed on Amazon or another retailer are handled by that retailer.

3. Information we collect

Information you give us

We collect personal information you choose to submit, including through a solar calculator, contact form, email, or similar request. Depending on what you submit, that may include:

– Name

– Email address

– Phone number

– Mailing or property address, or ZIP code

– Details you enter about a property, energy use, or solar interest

– The content of your message and how you prefer to be contacted

Submitting contact information through a solar calculator or similar lead form is voluntary. If you do not want that information sold or shared with solar installers or other solar-industry companies, do not submit the form. See Section 5.

We do not ask for government ID numbers, payment-card numbers, precise GPS coordinates, account passwords, or other sensitive personal information through ordinary site forms. Please do not send us those details.

Information collected automatically

When you use the site, we and our service providers may automatically collect:

– IP address and approximate location derived from it (city, region, or country — not precise GPS)

– Browser type, device type, operating system, and language settings

– Referring and exit URLs, pages viewed, links clicked, and date and time of visits

– Cookie identifiers and similar technical data

– Diagnostic data such as error logs

We use this information to run and secure the site, understand how it is used, measure content and ads, and support affiliate and advertising reporting.

Comments

If you leave a comment, we keep the details you enter in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser user-agent string, to help detect spam. An anonymized hash of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check for a profile image. Gravatar’s policy is at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Approved comments, and a profile image if one is shown, are public.

Do not upload images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors may be able to extract that data from images published on the site.

4. How we use information

We use personal information to:

– Respond to questions and provide the information or introduction you requested

– Sell or share lead information with qualified solar installers and other solar-industry companies, as described in Section 5

– Operate, maintain, and secure the site

– Measure traffic, content performance, and advertising

– Attribute affiliate referrals and earn commissions when you buy through our links

– Send administrative messages about a request you made

– Send marketing messages if you have asked for them or where law allows, and honor opt-outs

– Detect fraud, abuse, and spam

– Comply with law and protect our rights

We do not use your information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated means, such as credit decisions.

5. Sale of solar lead information

This is a core part of how Solar Panel Central works.

If you submit contact information through our solar calculator, a quote or installer-request form, or a similar feature, you are asking to be contacted about the possible purchase or installation of solar or solar-related equipment. You agree that we may sell or otherwise disclose that information to one or more qualified solar installers, solar equipment manufacturers, or other solar-industry companies so they can contact you about that request. We may receive a fee or other payment for the introduction.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, and under similar U.S. state laws, disclosing personal information for money or other valuable consideration is a “sale.” Disclosing it for cross-context advertising can be “sharing.” See Section 11 for how to opt out.

We require lead buyers, by contract, to:

– Use the information to respond to your expressed interest in solar products or installation, and for related legitimate business purposes

– Store it securely and in line with applicable law

– Not sell or disclose it to parties outside their own organization, except service providers acting on their behalf under confidentiality duties

– Stop contacting you, and delete or suppress your information, if you or we tell them you have opted out, except for records they must keep by law

A lead buyer’s contract with Solar Panel Central is also subject to this Policy and to our Terms. We do not control a buyer’s systems after the transfer. If a buyer contacts you and you want that to stop, tell them directly and also email contact@solarpanelcentral.com so we can suppress your information and notify buyers we are able to reach.

We do not sell contact information to the general public. We sell or share it only with solar-industry recipients we engage for this purpose, and with service providers as described in Section 7.

6. Advertising, analytics, and affiliate links

Affiliate Links

Solar Panel Central is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. We may also earn commissions from other affiliate programs if you click our links and buy from those merchants. Clicking an affiliate link can send the merchant technical data such as the fact that you came from our site, and that merchant may set its own cookies. Those purchases are governed by the merchant’s policies, not ours.

We display ads, including ads served by Google and other ad networks. Those partners may use cookies, pixels, and similar tools to serve and measure ads, including ads based on your visits to this and other sites, and to limit how often you see an ad. Under some state laws, use of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising is “sharing.”

Google describes how it uses information from sites that use its services, including AdSense and analytics, at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can control ad personalization in Google’s Ad Settings (https://adssettings.google.com) and install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on if you do not want Analytics used in your browser. Blocking third-party cookies in your browser also limits much of this collection. Private-browsing modes do not, by themselves, stop collection by sites and ad partners.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We and our partners use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to:

– Remember preferences and keep the site working

– Measure traffic and diagnose errors

– Serve and measure ads

– Attribute affiliate clicks

– Help detect spam on comments

If you comment and opt in, your name, email, and site URL may be stored in cookies for about one year so you do not have to re-enter them. A temporary cookie may be set to test whether your browser accepts cookies; it holds no personal data and is dropped when you close the browser.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser. If you do, some features may not work. Where required, we will honor a valid universal opt-out signal, such as Global Privacy Control, as a request not to sell or share personal information for covered advertising or lead-sale purposes.

8. Who we share information with

We share personal information with:

– Solar lead buyers, as described in Section 5

– Advertising and analytics providers, including Google, so they can serve, measure, and secure ads and measure traffic

– Affiliate partners, including Amazon, when you use an affiliate link

– Hosting, security, email, and spam-prevention providers that process data for us under instructions

– Professional advisors (such as lawyers or accountants) when needed

– Authorities and other parties when we believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security

– A buyer or successor if we sell or transfer the business or its assets, in which case this Policy will still cover the information unless you are told otherwise

We do not share personal information with social-login providers, payment processors, or mapping platforms as part of ordinary use of this site, because we do not offer those features for visitor accounts or checkout.

9. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose collected, and as needed for tax, accounting, security, and legal claims.

– Lead and contact-form submissions are kept while they are useful for matching you with solar companies and for our records of that introduction, and then deleted or de-identified, unless a longer period is required by law or an unresolved dispute.

– Comment content and related metadata may be kept for as long as the comment stays published, so follow-up comments can be recognized.

– Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and diagnostics, then deleted or aggregated.

Lead buyers keep information under their own policies and contracts with us.

10. How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we hold, including access limits and hosting controls. No website or transmission is perfectly secure. Do not send sensitive information through site forms or ordinary email.

If we confirm a breach of personal information that applicable law requires us to report, we will notify affected people and regulators as that law requires.

11. Your choices and U.S. privacy rights

You may email contact@solarpanelcentral.com or use https://solarpanelcentral.com/contact/ to:

– Ask what personal information we hold about you

– Ask us to correct it

– Ask us to delete it, subject to records we must keep

– Ask for a portable copy of information you gave us

– Opt out of marketing email (you may also use the unsubscribe link in those emails)

– Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information

– Appeal a denial of a privacy request, where your state provides a right to appeal

We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights, other than differences in service that the law allows (for example, we cannot introduce you to installers if you opt out of that sale).

We will verify requests by matching the information you provide to information we already hold, and we may ask for more detail if needed. You may use an authorized agent where your state allows it; we may require proof of that authority. We aim to respond within 45 days, and will tell you if we need more time where the law allows an extension.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We sell lead information as described in Section 5, and we may share identifiers and internet activity with advertising partners for cross-context advertising. To opt out, email contact@solarpanelcentral.com with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share,” or use the contact form, and enable a browser opt-out signal such as Global Privacy Control. We will also maintain a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on the site. After a verified opt-out, we will not sell or share the information covered by that request unless you later consent, and we will direct lead buyers we can identify to stop using it for contact.

California

If the CCPA/CPRA applies, California residents have the rights above, plus the right to know the categories of personal information collected, sold, or shared, the categories of sources, the business or commercial purposes, and the categories of recipients. In the preceding 12 months we have collected identifiers, commercial information (such as solar interest and form contents), internet or network activity, and approximate geolocation. We have sold or shared identifiers and commercial information with solar-industry lead buyers, and we have shared identifiers and internet activity with advertising partners. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16. California residents may also request the categories of personal information disclosed for third parties’ direct-marketing purposes under Civil Code section 1798.83 (Shine the Light) by contacting us with that subject line.

Other States

Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws — including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and others that grant similar rights — may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of personal data, and to opt out of sale, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. We treat an opt-out request from any U.S. visitor as a request not to sell lead information or use personal information for cross-context advertising. We do not knowingly collect sensitive data (such as precise geolocation, government IDs, or health information) and we do not use sensitive data for purposes that require a separate limit request.

Nevada

Nevada residents may email contact@solarpanelcentral.com to opt out of any sale of covered information for monetary consideration under Nevada law.

12. Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has submitted information, email contact@solarpanelcentral.com and we will delete it.

13. International Visitors

The site is operated in the United States. If you use it from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. We do not represent that the site meets every non-U.S. requirement. EU, UK, and similar visitors who do not want information processed in the United States should not submit forms on the site.

14. Embedded Content

Posts may include embedded content (for example video or social media). Embedded content behaves as if you had visited the other site. That site may set cookies, collect data, and track your interaction, including if you are logged in there.

15. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised Policy. If we materially change how we sell lead information, we will post the update on this page.
