The Paris Solar-Battery Park in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, represents a milestone in renewable energy as the state’s first large-scale solar and battery storage facility. Featuring a 200 MW solar array with nearly 500,000 panels and a 110 MW battery system comprising 12,000 lithium-ion units, the project became fully operational in 2025. Developed by Invenergy and owned primarily by We Energies alongside partners Madison Gas and Electric and Wisconsin Public Service, it enhances grid reliability by storing excess solar energy for use during peak demand or non-sunny periods, powering over 130,000 homes for up to four hours. The initiative supports carbon reduction goals, provides economic benefits through jobs and local investments, and is expected to lower energy costs for customers.
