Panel is constructed well & the cables are an appropriate gauge for the power rating. This unit is installed on a 1984 motorhome and has kept a single group 27 deep cycle battery charged very nicely! However, the solar controller’s default settings were incorrect. After sudden disconnect of a moderate load such as fan & lights, battery voltage would peak at 16 VDC on a sunny day. I changed the battery type setting to flooded (b03), and lowered the float voltage setting to 13.1 to alleviate this surge. No more surging past 14 VDC or so, which is fine. This kit is a good value, and I highly recommend it. I have only used it for a month or so but am very happy.

First, the solar panels are shipped with little to no packing. Just thin cardboard. This is glass! Of my 20 panels, 5 were shattered. DC house did not want to take them back but to make me dispose of them. They eventually issued return tags (but not the ones that would pick up from your home – you have to take them in). Also, 2 of the batteries were damaged but seemed to work, so they issued a $50 credit. The seller is difficult to communicate with. Plan on 1 communication email per day, so a conversation can take a long time. I compared this to US made hardware and that would cost around $14,000.00 for the same wattage (3900). I used custom roof mounts so do not have a comment on what was included. The install was pretty easy, I’m a handyman. The panels will quickly charge the batteries when in full sun. I ordered 8 additional batteries (total of 16) and seem to have plenty of storage to run an off grid RV with 2 air conditioners, fridge, lights, etc. The inverter is only 3,500 watts so I added a 6,000 watt inverter to handle the additional load of the second air conditioner. In full sun this system powers the AC units AND keeps the batteries charged. Been running for a couple of months with no problems. If you plan on charging the batteries through the inverter with a generator you will need A FULL 30 AMPS. Mine was only 25 and would not charge them. I don’t know why it takes so much to even trigger a charge.

Its a pretty idiot proof install and appears to work well.Things I liked:Red positive cable Black neg, (not all import solar kits bother with the red cable) and male and female connectors so you can only connect it correctly. Sufficient wire for my install, I had several feet left but I did mount mine right next to the refer vent, which is right above my deep cell battery so it was a straight shot. No plans or directions other than with the charge controller but pretty self explanatory, if you can replace your own car battery you can do this.I didn’t bother with measuring voltage/amps etc but I did run the tv and lights for a couple hours, ran the water pump a few times two, much like I would camping normally. Left the camper for the day with about a 3/4 charge on the battery indicator. Returned at five pm to find the battery fully charged, on a rainy, partly cloudy day in April. Not to bad for a flat mount, partly shaded area.Stuff that was Meh:I didn’t trust the bolts on the Z mounts without lock washers so I added a self tapping screw to each mount on the frame, also to the roof top. Lots of rubberized White Roof topper calked on before and after I screwed it to the roof, both for water proofing and to keep it glued down at 70 mph. Charge controller is pretty minimal and cheap looking. I may replace it in the future but it appears to work and tracks the batteries charge but only gives a indicator for what the solar panel is doing. Be sure to attach the battery first, then the solar panel and load or the controller may fry according to the directions.

It came undamaged and every thing was there, one small sheet of instructions to see how it set up, but it was enough. I set this up on a chicken coop, took about an hour and a half but when I was done(I used the presets) it started working. I hooked up a 750 watt inverter, put a timer with a light on it and it all worked and is continuing to work. We’ve had some cloudy days but even so the panel has been putting out 12.4 – 12.8 volts, when its sunny 13.8volts I’m happy with it. The only small thing I could see changing would be the screw down connectors for the cables on the controller. Maybe a little more heavy duty and larger

It is a nice system and DC House shipped it quickly and safely. The controller has a nice LCD display, which seems to be better than the controller of competing systems that do not have the display. The only glitch was that the title description claims that the system comes with 30 ft. cable. Turns out the red and black cables are about 15 ft. each for a combined 30 ft. length. That is just not long enough for me. As a result I have to buy additional cables for my installation. I could have bought 10 gauge primary wires but they weren’t any cheaper than the solar cables. Bought a pair of MC4 solar extension cables at Amazon, then found out that the shipper is in China and that it will take a while for the item to arrive. Good thing I found out before it was shipped. Cancelled the order and bought another set of extension cables from DC House instead. It arrived in a few days. Price is slightly higher because the cables are longer, but I needed the cable as soon as possible to install the system. Works fine once I installed it. .

Panels are cheaply made and half of them don’t work and they won’t send return labels. Amazon has told them to send me return labels several times. Still I have this trash product.

Hardest part was getting the batteries correctly lined up and not hooked up wrong, but that’s on me. Panels came in good condition, and customer support was there when I needed them. I bought 4 extra batteries, and hooked them up in series and parallel. Added image of how I hooked them up so you don’t have to struggle like I did.

Panel works great even in cloudy conditions, all connectors are great, but the charge controller is a piece. It is really hard to get the right gauge wire into the tiny slots. I think the controller drains a significant amount of juice too. The panel alone sells for about $100 so it may be more economical to just get your panels and a better charge controller separately.
